Our Office on Hale's High Street: Why It Matters That You Can Knock
Matt Smith · 9 June 2026 · 2 min read · Landlord Guides
If you walk down Ashley Road, Hale's high street, with its cafés, delis and the level crossing that gives the village its rhythm, you'll pass our front door at number 180. That's City Superhost. Not a registered-office address renting space on a letterhead; the actual office, where the actual business runs.

In an industry where "local management" often means a national call centre with a Manchester phone number, we think a door you can knock on is worth writing about.
Why Hale
Partly because it's home, this is where Matt and Steph built the business from one apartment listed on Airbnb in May 2017. And partly because it's strategically right. From Hale we're twenty minutes from the city centre, on the doorstep of our Cheshire portfolio in Hale, Bowdon, Hale Barns and Altrincham, and ten minutes from the airport corridor that feeds steady demand through Wythenshawe and south Manchester.
When we say we're "20 minutes away, not 200 miles", Ashley Road is the place we're measuring from.
What actually happens here
The unglamorous, important things that keep 80+ properties running:
- Owner meetings. Spreadsheets and statements are better conversations across a table. Prospective landlords come in to talk through valuations; existing owners drop by to review how their property's performing or plan a refurbishment with Steph.
- The operational hub. Guest communications, pricing reviews, calendar management and the daily choreography of changeovers across Greater Manchester are coordinated from here.
- Keys, kit and contingency. Spare keys, linen logistics, welcome-pack stock, the lockbox that saves a 2am drama, physical hosting needs a physical base.
Why a real office should matter to you
Choosing a manager is fundamentally a trust decision: you're handing someone keys to an asset worth hundreds of thousands of pounds. So apply a simple test to anyone you're considering, where do they physically sit, and can you visit?
A real local office means accountability you can walk into. It means the people answering your guests' messages share a postcode region with your property, not just a time zone. It means that when something needs eyes on it, a contractor to let in, a neighbour to reassure, a property to walk through before a big booking, someone is genuinely nearby, because they were coming in anyway.
It also signals something about how a business sees itself. Pop-up operators don't sign leases on village high streets. We're hosting for the long term, the same philosophy that shapes how we vet guests, and the office is that philosophy with a front door.
Come and say hello
This is an open invitation. If you own a property anywhere in Greater Manchester or Cheshire and you're weighing up short-let management, or just curious what your place might earn, come in for a coffee. Bring your questions, bring your scepticism, bring last year's rental statement if you want the comparison done properly.
You'll find us at 180 Ashley Road, Hale, Altrincham WA15 9SF. Book an in-person meeting so we make sure the kettle's on, or just message us on WhatsApp when you're passing, same-day replies, usually within the hour, because the people replying are sitting right here.
